The UConn Global Business Programs Office and School of Business Department of Management, have created this program in partnership with the Connecticut District Export Council to promote knowledge about exporting to students who may wish to have this additional skill for their professional growth. The export professional development program helps guide professionals by providing tools needed by corporate executives wishing to successfully navigate the choppy waters of the rapidly changing rules of engagement for exporters and importers alike. The program includes two-tracks focused on Export Compliance and Export Logistics. In a global economy, knowledge of exporting logistics and compliance is crucial for businesses of all sizes, as 95% of all consumers live outside the U.S. Achieving this certificate will help prepare students to assist an SME (Small to Medium size Enterprise) to either begin or expand their exporting capabilities.
These programs have three required components for successful completion.
1. Attend the Kick-off program on November 14 @ 6:00 in GBLC, Observation Deck. The program will include the screening of the FBI produced movie, “Made in America” and a panel of experts in the field of exporting, followed by a time of Q&A and networking. Refreshments will be served. Register here.

The FBI movie tells the story of the formation of a powerful partnership between the FBI, a U.S. manufacturing company, and an informant willing to serve against a nuclear proliferation network. “Made in America” is based on a real investigation involving an Iranian proliferation network; however, the lessons learned are country agnostic and the “red flags” highlighted apply to all countries whose proliferation of exported, dual-use technologies could cause harm to our Nation’s security.
2a) For the Compliance credential: View four out of the seven webinars listed below. You must complete a quiz for each viewed webinar. The webinars are available on YouTube. The links to the webinars are posted on here our website: Global Business Programs. After each webinar link is the corresponding quiz link. The quizzes are done via Qualtrics.
