Mary has enjoyed a rewarding career path that includes experience in Corporate Responsibility, Corporate Philanthropy, Marketing and Public Relations. She has spent the last decade focused on building the corporate responsibility function within companies to create value for business and society. Mary’s work involves integrating comprehensive environmental, social and governance performance objectives into business strategy to create social benefits, operational efficiency, brand equity, employee retention and competitive advantage.
Mary worked for Cigna, a global health services company, since 2012 as Senior Director of Corporate Responsibility. During her years at Cigna, she helped to craft the company’s Cigna Connects Corporate Responsibility platform. She has also served as Executive Director for the Cigna Foundation where she helped build philanthropic partnerships that aimed to address health disparities and respond to community needs in ways that are sustainable, scalable and effective.

Mary began her career in hospitality sales in Boston and then, after moving to Connecticut, she worked for The Greater Hartford Chamber of Commerce, Greater Hartford Jaycees (where she was the marketing manager for the Greater Hartford Open PGA TOUR event) and later worked in marketing at The Hartford Courant.

Mary holds a BA from Connecticut College and an MSc in Social Responsibility and Sustainability from Aston University in Birmingham, UK.
