The GE GoGlobal Award is a new program launched this year that awards business students studying abroad with a GoPro camera in order to record footage while the student participates in a short-term study abroad program. The photos and videos taken will be used by the Global Business Programs office to develop a Virtual Study Abroad program for students unable to study abroad or faculty to use as teaching modules in their international business classes.
Undergraduates will apply through the Undergrad advising office in the spring each year
The 2017 recipient of the GE GoGlobal Award was Alexander Harden who captured footage in Amsterdam while studying at the University of Amsterdam. Alexander is a great example of a student whose study abroad experience changed his life:
“The world is bigger than we can imagine and studying abroad allowed me to experience a few of the countless marvels hidden within. Spending a semester in Europe pushed me to step outside of comfort zone, see the colors of the world from new perspectives, and recognize the necessity of being a global citizen.”
