Emily Dodson (She/Her) is a 2019 graduate of the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Human Rights and a Spanish minor. In her time at UConn, Emily was a Summer Internship Fellow with Social Accountability International, an international organization focused on capacity building, multi-level trainings for factories and companies, and owner of the SA8000 standard. Following graduation, Emily supported UConn’s Global Training & Development Institute in the execution of the YSEALI Grant for visiting students from Southeast Asia. Emily currently works as a Senior Associate of Social Compliance at the Fair Labor Association in Washington, DC. In her role, she supports in factory-level monitoring and accreditation of factories against the Fair Labor Associations Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing and Production, and supports in their Fair Compensation program. The Fair Labor Association is a collaborative effort of socially responsible companies, colleges and universities, and civil society organizations to conduct and advise on due diligence activities for leading apparel brands to ensure ethically sourced apparel and goods.
